BALKAN FILM MARKET brings together audio-visual professionals from European and Balkan countries to share stories, foster professional relations and strengthen marketing efforts of local productions. BFM ultimate goal is to boost co-production and distribution in this rich and diverse region with yet untapped potential.
BFM is envisioned as a unique event standing on three main pillars: Education, Development and Collaboration. An elaborate set of panels targeting youth, gender, technology and coproduction with Europe, compiled with several networking events will open numerous windows of opportunities for Balkan filmmakers to get informed, promote and attract funding for their upcoming project as well as explore sales and distribution opportunities in a prime regional market.
At BFM will be present a variety of educational alternatives, workshops and master classes, as well as traditional film schools. A panel discussion will go over the multiple of educational opportunities in the region.
Based on the experience of the local workshop ALBASCRIPT 2016, the newly formatted ALBASCRIPT PLUS opens up to narrative feature and short films from the filmmakers residing in the Balkan region.
PITCH BALKAN, is a major event that gives a presenting opportunity to partly financed projects with a wider Balkan relevance not only content wise but also formatted as cross-border production.
A line-up of European talent, audio-visual institutions, producers, dealers and distributors have confirmed the attendance.
BFM is organized in collaboration with Albanian National Center of Cinematography, EURIMAGES, Creative Europe Desk Albania and EURIMAGES. BFM is made possible with generous support of support of Ministry of Culture of Albania and MiBACT – Direzione Centrale per il Cinema in Italy
